1. I finally bought Starcraft 2 yesterday. I made it through the tutorials and the first 2 missions.. I’m still a complete and total noob at this whole RTS thing. If anyone wants to help me/challenge me my character name is (wait for it) Delerius.
2. Yesterday I got a new pet. He was a cricket. He crawled on my cubicle wall just a few inches away from my face, freaked me out, and I smashed it several times with a large book. I kept it on my desk and named it Philip.
This morning I arrived at work to the horrifying sight of no Philip on my desk. Either someone threw him away or he wasn’t actually dead and he took his napkin with him..
But! Not 5 minutes later I found another cricket on the floor in the break room, so I stomped on it and brought it back to my desk. This one is named Cassie. Cassie the Cricket.
It actually wasn’t dead right away. About 2o minutes after I stomped it, it popped back on its legs and fell onto the floor. I heard the “plop” sound and it freaked me out, but i stomped it a few more times and now she is back on my desk where she belongs. Gotta put the cricket in her place.
3. There is a game called PapiJump on the Android market that I play a lot.. my high score is 84,764. I challenge you to beat me. For reference, that kind of score is always the highest score for the “last 100 plays” and is around 10th-20th for the “top 100 of the week”

Finding crickets is good luck. And then you go and squash them.
So that way I can keep the good luck with me forever! It’s not like I would eat it..

As far as dead cricket owners, I’m sure there is a form where you can whine with your fellow dead cricket owners regarding the lack of acceptance you all deal with.

When you say that you’re a noob at RTS-style games, just how noob-ish are we talking? And is SC2 a good near-intro to those, in your opinion?
Also, I don’t think I’ll be leaving you in charge of my fish after hearing how your pet crickets seem to fare.
I’ve played some Warcraft 2 (years ago) and a little Warcraft 3, but my experience with that was little more than against the AI and my brother who is.. not so fantastic at RTS.
I know the basic controls, but I know that I would be crushed if I step into a ranked game right now.
I need to learn all the units, learn some different racial strategies and stuff. I’ve just gotta practice really. Got any tips?
